Textiles

It is hard to see or touch any object that doesn’t somehow “talk back” to us.  Lines, colors, textures, patterns, and styles line up together to “dress up” everyday things, from wearables to furniture, accessories, and home decor.

I am passionate about beautiful textiles and fine tailoring and have been an avid collector for many years; designing them myself gave this passion a whole new level dimension.

Hard Surfaces

Advances in ink and print technology have given us the capability of more durable and higher quality printing on a huge array of surfaces. This includes transparent materials which allow creating art patterns that not only decorate but even define spaces indoors and out.

A particular aspect of this area offers an exhilarating reward:  being able to bring design to the street by incorporating art into functional but otherwise sometimes dull objects.

Paper

I used to spend insane amounts of time trying to find the “right” paper for each situation; particularly, when it came to wallpaper (liked many but none of them would end up on my walls)…

A few years back, part of my job for an organization that included an international museum was designing branded patterns to be applied to a variety of products, wallpaper, and packaging, etc. That was a fascinating project that opened the door to an area of design that, ever since, has become one of my favorite given the diversity in the application of design.
